SUSPENDED GROUNDS
HANGING PLANTER SYSTEM
A series of merged soil vessels suspended in mid air. Water flows from one planter to the next nourishing an array of uprooted plants. Previously void space is inhabited and begins to facilitate growth in the vertical dimension.
The project unfolds in two scales:
First, a series of small (30 cm x 30 cm x 30 cm) prototypes were 3D printed and tested.
Second, a similar system of planters is imagined at an architectural scale, within the atrium of an old industrial building.
